Stories from the Campfire
By Steve Huckle, Ed Burton and Matt Quinn
Every July, Brighton Buddhist Centre hold a family gathering at the Rivendell Retreat Centre, near Uckfield in East Sussex, UK. It's a beautiful event that's been running for many years.
On the final evening, all the families meet for a barbecue at the retreat campfire. Afterward, we eat toasted bread that the children bake in the fire, sing songs, and tell stories. Then we head out through the dark woods and across a narrow bridge that crosses a small stream for a 'midnight walk'.
It has become a tradition that, during the week, someone writes the main story that's told by the campfire. This book is a collection of the stories written since 2010.
